The DP World International League T20 completed its Season 5 player auction at the ICC Academy in Dubai on 1 October. Four international players exceeded the league’s previous $260,000 auction record: Fazalhaq Farooqi led at $380,000, followed by Liam Livingstone at $350,000, Rahmanullah Gurbaz at $310,000 and Faf du Plessis at $300,000. UAE opener Muhammad Waseem returned to MI Emirates for $210,000, the highest ILT20 auction price reported for a UAE player. In all, 26 UAE players received contracts worth a combined $1.027 million. The auction built squads for the coming Season 5; the competition itself had not begun.
