Italy has assigned €1.55 billion to 59 water infrastructure projects across 17 regions, according to the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. WAM reported the announcement on 3 October from its Abu Dhabi-based newsroom. The ministry said funding procedures had been finalised with Invitalia using the Water Fund. About €830 million, or 53% of the allocation, is directed to southern Italy. An official ministry release also lists €683 million in beneficiary co-financing and says the combined investment activated exceeds €2.2 billion. The announcement confirms the funding allocation, not completion of construction or delivery of the 59 projects.
