Abu Dhabi's Department of Municipalities and Transport announced the Musaffah Innovation District on 1 October 2026 as a long-term redevelopment programme rather than a completed district. The first phase runs to 2030 and is planned to release about 100 hectares of development-ready land while advancing the 8th Street and E30 corridor projects. A second phase from 2030 to 2035 is planned to release more than 100 additional hectares for clusters including semiconductors, electric-vehicle and aerospace supply chains, robotics, hydrogen, sustainable fuels, solar and energy storage, medical technology, data centres and maritime industries. The department said participation may include long-term leaseholds, public-private partnerships and strategic development partnerships for local, regional and international investors. At full implementation, organisers project an annual GDP contribution of AED227 billion and about 269,800 jobs, with 26 per cent classed as high-skilled. Those figures are forecasts, not achieved results, and the announcement did not give a single completion date beyond the two phase windows.
