Abu Dhabi Media Office said on September 21 that the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training was leading an EmiratesSkills team of 17 young UAE entrants for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026. The team was due to take part across 16 technical and vocational skills in China.
WorldSkills reported that the event opened on September 22 and that competitors began their projects on September 23. The published schedule continues through September 27. Earlier organiser figures projected about 1,400 competitors from 73 countries and regions across 64 skills.
The Abu Dhabi announcement described its team's planned participation, while the organiser's later update confirms that the international competition has begun. Neither announcement reported a medal or a result for the UAE team at the time of this report.
