Outward workers’ remittances from the six Gulf Cooperation Council countries reached about US$161 billion in 2025, up 13.6% from 2024 and around US$19 billion higher, according to a GCC Statistical Center report. The official report lists the UAE at US$62.1 billion and Saudi Arabia at US$58.0 billion; together they accounted for nearly three-quarters of the GCC total. Remittances equalled about 6.6% of combined GCC gross domestic product. GCC-Stat cautioned that this ratio shows the relative weight of the flows and does not by itself indicate better or worse economic performance.
